Tiger baseball and softball update

The Lady Tigers took on the Columbus Wildcats at home on June 10. The Tigers scored two runs in the second inning and led until the fourth inning. Columbus scored nine runs in the 4th and 5th innings, and although the Tigers scored four in the sixth, it wasn’t enough.
The Tigers lost 9-6. Megan Lee and Sophie Malott both hit two singles. They both scored two runs and Malott drove in two. Shaylee Brothersen and Maison Nelson each hit a single and Nelson and Kennedy Herrick both scored a run. Lee pitched five innings and suffered the loss.
On June 11, the baseball team took on Notre Dame at the Nikes’ home field. The Tigers went down to defeat 15-0. Cale Westerbeck got the only Tiger hit, a single, on the night. Brendan Richey pitched 0.1 inning and suffered the loss.
June 12, the Tigers played at Hillcrest Academy. The softball team lost 13-4. Shaylee Brothersen went 3-for-4, hitting three singles and scoring a run. Sophie Malott walked twice and scored a run. Lena Nelson hit a double and walked once. Natalie Fisher and Izebella Dusenberry each scored a run.
The baseball team took it on the chin 11-0 to Hillcrest Academy. The losing pitcher was Michael Raines.
Thursday’s games against Van Buren County were called off due to inclement weather.
Friday, June 14, both teams hosted Mediapolis. The Lady Tigers lost 13-0. The baseball team lost 12-0. It was a tough week for the Tigers, but tomorrow is a new day. Good luck next week.
