Tiger Football and Cross-Country For the Week

The Tigers played a rare Saturday afternoon game at Moravia High School on Oct. 12. The reason for the change was officials couldn’t be found for the Friday night game.

The Tigers didn’t settle in until the second quarter, and by then they were down by 14. The second half ended at a score of Moravia 22 — Tigers 6. The Tigers would go on to score 14 points in the second half, but it wasn’t enough. The final score was Moravia 36 — New London 20.

Gavin Menke-Bailey was 5/12 passing for 57 yards and two TDs. London Franklin was 0/1 passing with an interception. Cale westerbeck and Brigham Porter each had a receiving TD.

Menke-Bailey carried the ball five times for 41 yards and a TD. Cale Westerbeck had four carries for 25 yards. London Franklin had 10 carries for 28 yards. Brigham Porter had three carries for 18 yards.

The defense was led by Menke-Bailey with 11 total tackles. Corbin Jacobs-Jewell had seven total tackles. Nic Loyd added eight total tackles, Cole Swanson-5, London Franklin-4.5, and Porter-3.

Westerbeck and Logan Franklin each had an interception. London Franklin added a two-point conversion.

The Tigers will play there last regular season game on Oct. 18 at home against English Valleys. It is also senior night. Come out and support the boys!

Cross-Country

The cross-country meet this week was the Mike Jay Invitational with Mediapolis and Columbus as cohosts at Heritage Oaks Golf Course on Thursday, Oct. 10. The following are the runners, their time and their place.
