Volleyball
The Tigers hosted the West Burlington Falcons on Tuesday, Oct. 7. It was also Youth VB night and Senior Night. The Tigers played hard, but it was a tough night. They lost in three. Scores were 25-6, 25-4, and 25-8.
Olivia Romer, Maison Nelson, Kylea Schwenker, and Makenna Jacobsmeier each had a kill. Olivia Romer had five blocks and Evelyn Adams added two. Jacobsmeier had a serve ace.
On Thursday, Oct. 9, they played the Nikes on their home court. Notre Dame swept the Tigers 25-14, 25-14, and 25-9.
The Tigers had six kills: Olivia Romer, Marlianna Woodsmall, Evelyn Adams, Makenna Jacobsmeier each had a kill. Maison Nelson added two. Romer had four blocks and a serve ace, Woodsmall — one, and Adams had one plus three serve aces.
The Tigers play on Monday, Oct. 20 at Wapello at 7 p.m. in the Class 1A Region 2, first round.
Cross-Country
The day was Oct. 10 and the place was Cedarcrest Country Club. Both the high school and JH participated with Columbus hosting.
The HS boys:
· Natan Bergman — 20:16 — 20th place
· Zayden Lawrence — 22:31 — 27th place
· Elijah Ingwersen — 22:36 — 29th place
· Zane Long — 23:13 — 31st place
· Eli Hinton — 23:39 — 35th place
· Jayden Wagner — 32:46 — 44th place
The HS girl:
· Irelynn Kelly — 30:40 — 21st place
The JH boy:
· Bentley McFarland — 12:28 — 1st place
The JH girls:
· Lillian Francy — 14:27 — 6th place
· Emma Totemeier — 15:43 — 9th place
As the fall sports will soon be over and basketball and wrestling take center stage, remember to always cheer the Tigers on … go Tigers!!!
