Boys Golf
The Class 1A sectional boys golf tournament was held May 8 at Deerwood Golf Club. English Valleys won the team title with a score of 346. As a team, the Tigers carded a 405. Coen Fitzpatrick shot a 92, finishing 8th that advances him to Class 1A District tournament on Monday, May 13 at Heritage Oaks Golf Course in Wapello.
The rest of the team’s scores: Michael Raines - 100, Archer Bonnesen - 106, Sully Barron - 107, Izzy Lemley - 113, and Adam Allen - 143.
Girls Golf
Monday, May 6 was the SEISC golf meet. Taylor Phillips shot a 4-over-par to beat her nemesis, Olivia Hines, by seven strokes and take medalist honors at Heritage Oaks. Next year they will be teammates as they both will attend the University of Dubuque.
The Tigers lost the team contest by two shots to Highland. Sophie Malott was 4th with a 91.
The day was Thursday, May 9, and the place was Deerwood Golf Course. It was the first round of regional golf and the Tigers were ready. They won the match by nearly 30 strokes with a 369. This qualifies them for the regional final at Moravia’s Honey Creek Resort on May 15.
Taylor Phillips was medalist with an 80 and Sophie Malott was second with an 83. Emma Busby finished fifth best with a 101.

Soccer
Tuesday, May 7, the D-NL soccer team faced Columbus in the SEISC Conference Tournament quarterfinals. The Bears were victorious winning 8 - 2. On Friday, May 10, they took on Mediapolis in the semifinals. They lost 6 - 2.
On Monday, May 13, Danville-NL will start postseason play against Columbus in 1A-6 first round play at Danville HS. Best of luck Bears!
