Tigers are victorious at HLV

The Monday (9/18) meeting with the IHSAA gave the Tigers the green light to continue the varsity football season. The only caveat is if the team has to forfeit another game the season will be over.
The Tigers notched their first victory against the HLV Warriors on Friday, September 22. It was just the right touch to the beginning of Homecoming week.
The Warriors put up 14 points in the first quarter to the Tigers eight. But by half time, New London took a lead into the locker room, 16-14.
The Tigers scored six in the third while holding HLV scoreless. At the start of the fourth quarter, the Tigers held a 22 - 14 lead. Both teams would score twice, but the boys sealed the Tiger victory, 36-28.
The stats stacked up this way:
•QB Gavin Menke-Bailey threw the ball for 90 yards and two TDs. He carried the ball 17 times for 125 yards and one TD. He had 7.5 tackles and one two-point conversion.
•Cale Westerbeck rushed for 53 yards on nine carries and one TD. He had four tackles.
•Michael Raines carried the ball 10 times for 34 yards. He caught two passes for 17 yards and one TD. He had 11 tackles and a two-point conversion.
•Logan Franklin had three receptions for 69 yards and one TD.
•Nic Loyd had 5.5 tackles and recovered a fumble for 16 yards.
•Griffin Swanson and Corbin Jacobs-Jewell each had four tackles.
•Paxton Lindsey had three tackles and two were sacks.
