It was SEISC Tournament time. The Tigers traveled to Central Lee HS for pool play on 9/21. The girls beat WACO, 25-23, 17-21, 15-8, Louisa-Muscatine, 21-11, 21-16 and lost to Wapello, 21-13, 21-14. They were in a three-way tie for first in their pool, with two teams advancing. They lost a one game tie breaker to Central Lee, 21-17.
Setter Katelyn Allen had a medical emergency and couldn’t be at the tournament. Without practice, Morgan Jones and Marlianna Woodsmall stepped in and did a great job setting! We are glad to report that Katelyn is on the mend.
The Tiger stats for pool play: Sophie Malott had 32 kills, three aces and 24 digs for the Tigers. Morgan Jones had 10 kills, 38 assists, four aces and 35 digs. Hailee Dudley had six digs. Marlianna Woodsmall had two kills, 38 assists, five aces ad 11 digs. Tysann Gipple had 30 kills, three aces and 34 digs. Lillie Gallup had four aces and 39 digs. Kayla Strawhacker had four kills and three digs.
West Burlington was the eventual tournament champ, sweeping Holy Trinity 25-19 and 25-18.
