Washington County 4-H seeks to honor the group’s senior members by shining the spotlight on each one as they near the end of their 4-H journey. Today the spotlight shines on Rylee Libe.
Name: Rylee Libe
Hometown: Washington
Parents: Heather Humble, Micah Harmsen, and Seth & Megan Libe
School: Washington
4-H Club: Prairie Pride
Projects: Swine
4-H Activities: Pancake Breakfast, Cattle Show Pictures, Father Daughter Dance Pictures, Mud-Volleyball, Kiwanis Booth, etc.
Special 4-H memory/highlight: My special highlight would be my first County Fair show. This happened to occur on my birthday and the outcome was much better than expected. ‘Black Beauty’ helped me win my first County Fair and made the day extra special.
Please write a few complete sentences about what you learned in 4-H, or why others should join 4-H. Throughout my 4-H career, I have experienced much more than I ever would have expected. I have learned to be patient and how to work extra hard for the things that I want. Many people have helped me to realize that nothing is just handed out for free. I recommend 4-H to all, just for the experience that it provides.
Future plans: After graduation, I plan to attend Iowa State University while majoring in Animal Science. While attending school, I also plan to work at Fareway and possibly look into jobs at Vet Clinics near campus.
