Bilingual-focused Kirkwood day camp canceled

WASHINGTON — Camp Connect, a summer camp at the Kirkwood Regional Center in Washington designed to connect students learning English with those already fluent, has been canceled.
In an email, a Kirkwood spokesperson said the day camp — originally scheduled Aug. 12-14 of this year — had to be called off after one of its staff was called away for a family emergency. The regional center still plans to offer Kirkwood Camp Connect in summer of 2026, according to the spokesperson.
