Main Street Washington

Organized in 2008 the Main Street program has been working diligently to revitalize Washington’s beautiful downtown district. Over the years, MSW has brought millions of dollars to Washington's Historic Downtown through grants, many of which are exclusive to Main Street communities/organizations.

We have built relationships with businesses and organizations to expand, create & rebuild where possible. Thanks to the time, talent and contributions from those listed on the following pages, Main Street Washington was able to accomplish the following in 2022.

• Downtown and community wide promotional events: Movies on Main Street, Hocus Pocus in the Park, Pink Friday & Small Business Saturday, and Holiday SNOW — Breakfast with Santa, Santa’s House, Lighted Parade & Lights of Love Trees (look for new events each month this year!)

• Tracked over $1,500,000 of downtown private investment since 2008.

• Completed the 3rd Round of Downtown Investment Grants (DIG) with over $100,000 of incentives awarded & over $1 million of Private Investment into Downtown buildings for improvements & additional living spaces

• $100,000 Challenge Grant to Koller+Plus, LLC for renovations & addition of second-story furnished apartment

MAIN STREET WASHINGTON’S ECONOMIC IMPACT

MSW has recorded the following economic gains within our downtown district since July 2008.

• Net gain of 62 business starts, relocations, and expansions

• Approximately $1 million in grants to 74 downtown properties, spurring private investment in the

downtown district

• 85 FREE architectural consultations and services totaling more than $200,000 in MSI Technical Assistance

• More than 40 FREE workshops and training opportunities valued at approximately $150,000

• More than 25,000 volunteer hours logged.
