The mission of Main Street Washington is to create a culturally diverse, economically vibrant downtown district. This will be achieved through strong partnerships, historic preservation, and coordinated events by empowering and educating businesses, volunteers, and the community.

MSW has been working diligently to grow our volunteer base, investors, and board. We are proud to say that community members have been reaching out to get involved and we have added three new board members, are reassembling our four core committees with vigor, and have gained new investors while also rebuilding relations with many community members and businesses.

These board members have been putting life into MSW for many years and even those who are new have already begun creating events and forging new relationships that only further our mission and help us achieve our goals.

In the year to come, we are going to be more visible — you will see our director and board members out and about in the community, in the stores and the businesses, at the festivals and fundraisers. We will be present so that we may know what our downtown needs when it needs it and be able to communicate to our public effectively. Downtown Washington is the heart of the city, and the City of Washington is the heart of Washington County so we must all beat in rhythm together to ensure a vibrant and robust future for our community.
