WASHINGTON — Washington County Hospital and Clinics has taken another step forward in advanced vascular care with the addition of the Parks Flo-Lab, the gold standard in Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) testing. This cutting-edge system allows WCHC to perform both rest and stress ABI exams, giving providers a more precise picture of blood flow and circulation issues — especially in patients with reduced blood flow or hardened arteries.
“With the Flo-Lab, we can detect problems earlier and with greater accuracy, which ultimately means better outcomes for our patients,” said Tonya Wageman, Imaging Manager.
The upgrade strengthens WCHC’s commitment to providing high-quality vascular diagnostics close to home. More comprehensive testing means potential circulation problems can be identified and treated sooner, supporting better long-term health for our community.
It also complements the work of outreach provider Jerud Cozine, ARNP, from Mercy Cedar Rapids, who sees patients at our Outreach Main location every 2nd and 4th Friday. Jerud specializes in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, including treatment for arterial disease, venous disease, and lymphedema.
If you have questions about whether you may need an ABI exam, talk with your provider. A referral is required for this test.
