MT. PLEASANT - Southeast Iowa Link, the mental health and disability services board that serves Henry, Washington, Jefferson and five other counties in the region, will receive approximately $1.5 million in funds for local health care providers impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
Henry County Supervisor Marc Lindeen, who sits on the board, reported the state of Iowa will receive about $50 million for COVID-19 expenses. The supervisor added Gov. Kim Reynolds decided how the funds were allocated.
Lindeen said SEIL just received news of the funds, and no decisions have been made as to how the money will be distributed.
'My understanding is that it will be at the governing board's discretion, and we'll give it to the providers, and we're even talking about school systems,” Lindeen said.
During their meeting, the supervisors approved a firework permit for a display in Danville on Friday. The permit requires the individual handling the fireworks has completed the necessary pyrotechnics and safety training.
