Washington library has something new every day

The weather is getting warmer and the sun is setting later. I would like to say that winter is over, but we live in Iowa so the second I say that it is going to snow again. As much as I love the winter holidays, I am very ready for spring and summer.
We have a lot of fun plans being made here at the library. Summer reading is in the planning stages for this year, and the new Make IT Place is opening up the possibilities for programs. I’m not the one planning these programs, but I am so excited to participate in the teen programs and volunteer for the kids’ programs.
I have been volunteering here at the library even longer than I’ve worked here and participating in the programs even longer than that! I remember going upstairs to a packed room full of other kids ready to be amazed by what was going on at the front. Or getting on Zoom and making emoji pillows because we couldn’t meet in person. I’ve even painted a couple of Bob Ross paintings that now hang on our walls.
So be on the lookout for our summer reading programs, but also check out what is going on now. We have something going on nearly every day here at the library! You can see what all of our upcoming programs are at the event calendar on our website at www.washington.lib.ia.us.
The event calendar is also a way to register for events that require preregistration. So head over to our website and see what you are interested in, and stop in the library to attend a program, or just check out some books!
