WASHINGTON — Recently, the YMCA has been able to extend a warm welcome to a few of our donors for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the eagerly anticipated YMCA Indoor Aquatic Center.
The Y’s Men’s and Women’s Club of Washington took a tour during their recent meeting and had several questions for the construction manager. Additionally, Tim and Patty Elliott of Elliott Realty joined CEO Amy Schulte for a tour of the site and talked about all of the possibilities the new facility would bring to the community.
During the tours, the donors had the firsthand opportunity to explore the state-of-the-art facilities, and the progress of this transformative project they have supported. The construction of the project remains on track for an opening in September of 2024, and will bring many more opportunities to the community.
The YMCA Indoor Aquatic Center has been built on public support, donations from past and present members as well as grant funds that promise to enrich the lives of individuals and families for generations to come. While there is much to celebrate with the tremendous progress achieved thus far, the Y acknowledges that our journey is not quite complete. The YMCA continues to seek donations to achieve the goal of fully funding the project before opening later this year.
