On Saturday, Aug. 5 during Crooked Creek Days, there will be two showings of the movie "Miracle at Manchester" starring Dean Cain.
The showings will be at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Open Bible Activity Center; a good place to get out of the heat.
This is truly a miracle story, about a high school sophomore Brycen Newman who was diagnosed with brain cancer.
With only a 5% chance to survive, God and the folks at Cathedral Catholic in San Diego had other ideas.
The miracle was found at the Manchester Athletic Field where 1,800 students prayed over him.
Brycen had begun dreaming about his perfect car. Unfortunately, his battle with cancer made him unable to walk, let alone take his driving license test anytime soon.
He was given an old, rusty and rundown 1966 Ford Mustang.
Over the next 10 months, Ed Hanson, a body shop owner, worked on fixing up the busted Mustang while at the same time Brycen worked on fixing up his health.
Starring Dean Cain, "Miracle at Manchester" is the true story of a kid with cancer and a car with cancer overcoming what seemed impossible.
