Soon flags will be flying all around Winfield thanks to a project sponsored by the Winfield Lion’s Club.
Don’t be the only house on your block without a flag. Call 319-931-8758 or contact any Lion’s Club member to have a flag placed in your yard to celebrate eight holidays throughout the year.
For $40 per year, Lion’s will furnish a flag, a pole and a base. They will place the flag in your yard to celebrate the following holidays: Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, 9/11 and Veteran’s Day. The flags will then be taken down and stored until the next holiday.
Show your pride for our country and the people who made our freedom possible. Nothing shows our pride for America better than a flag gently blowing in the breeze. Take this opportunity to display your pride for the United States of America and what it stands for. The Lions would like to have a flag in every yard to show our patriotism. And what a sight it would be to drive around town and see a flag flying in every yard and in front of every business. Join your neighbors and make this a reality.
Money raised is used to support community projects, various charities, including sending kids to camps. The Lions donate money to help train seeing-eye dogs, and various other charitable projects. For more information about Lions and what they support, ask a Lion—or better yet, become a Lion. Everyone is welcome to their den.
