Hudsons Celebrated 70th Wedding Anniversary

WINFIELD — Family came from near and far to help Shirley and Ed Hudson celebrate their 70th Wedding Anniversary Sunday, Dec. 2 at Occasions on Oak in Winfield.
Shirley Nelson and Ed Hudson met in 6th grade while attending school in Morning Sun. They were married Dec. 4, 1953, at the United Methodist Church in Morning Sun. Their attendants were Sharon Sisco and Robert Marshall.
They have lived on their farm SE of Winfield for 62 years. There they raised five children including Kyle who is deceased. They have 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Ed was a farmer, a deputy, and had his private pilot’s license. Shirley was employed at Sunrise Terrace for 20 years.
Children who came to celebrate with their parents were: Kenneth from New Haven, Connecticut, Keith and wife Joan and their son Jeff and his daughter Jessica, from Osten, Florida, Karl and Laura from Wayland three of children of their four children, Kanen, Kandance and Kiley, daughter Konnie and husband Tim Pace from Muscatine, Iowa and their two children, Britt and Zac, and Kathy and husband Matthew Mettenburg and their five children, Allison, Mick, Beth, Caroline, and Tommy from Rockridge, Illinois.
Many other friends and family also came to help the Hudson’s celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary.
