The November WAGG (Winfield Area Grateful Gathering) Event will feature an “across-the-pond” visit to Ireland, narrated by Winfield’s Irish travelers, Cindy Buffington and Barb Phelps. The Event will take place at on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 6:30 p.m.
Cindy Buffington’s profession prior to retirement in 2015 was a school librarian/media specialist for 38 years. She worked 29 of those years in the WMU School system, then another seven years as a substitute teacher after retiring. After retirement, Cindy has been volunteering in numerous locations, reading, making quilts and crafty things. Cindy is an active church member at the New London Christian Church.
Barb Phelps’ pre-retirement profession was also in the school setting. She was a special education teacher for 40 years, the last 23 in the WMU Schools. Barb also has kept busy in retirement with various volunteer positions. She also enjoys being able to do grandma-duties whenever possible. Barb is an active member in Winfield’s First Presbyterian Church.
Both ladies invite you to share in their love of traveling by joining them as they share their enchanting 2024 trip to Ireland. Be ready to see pictures of the Green Isle and hear some whimsical memories. All Winfield and surrounding community members are welcome to join the fun. Following the presentation, there will be a green spread of food and decor in the basement fellowship hall. A freewill offering for future WAGGs will be collected.
