The communities of Winfield and Morning Sun will send off 10 soldiers, Eric Palmer, Rick Skow, Jeremy Welcher, Bronson Wixom, Kevin Burden, John Thornton, Adam Dean, Austin Leavens, Robert Gerkinger, and Braden Carroll. The public is invited to attend the ceremony and informal reception for these soldiers on July 18, 2010 at the WMU gymnasium.

Terry Cornick and Patti Haines were the champions of the father-daughter golf tournament with an 84, held July 10 at Twin Lakes.
The Winfield Methodist Church held a farewell reception for Tom and Margaret Kaut and Jill Linder and family on July 24.
Paul and Lynn Humphrey welcomed a new daughter, Allison Grace, born July 6, 2005.
Mary Kate Peterson was born to Wyatt and Megan Peterson on June 28, 2005.

Kinsey Olson, age 18, of Winfield, daughter of Jeffrey and Gayle Olson, was one of the Henry County Fair Queen candidates.
WMU graduating senior, Vince Kloipfenstein, blasted his eighth home run of the season to earn a share of the school record as WMU split with Pekin, 13-2 and 7-6.

Sean Honts, of Winfield, shot an 81 at Twin Lakes Golf Course to win the Independent Insurance Agent Junior Classic qualifying tournament.
Bailey Ann Hesseltine was born to Chad and Lisa Hesseltine on June 23, 1995.
1990
Mary Ann Wanner, owner of the beauty and gift shop on Main Street, was shampooing Eva Weber when a vehicle driven by Elbert Snell struck the front of the building, damaging the building as well as causing extensive damage to the inside of the shop.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Briggs will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary July 25 with a family dinner.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Trenary celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.

The Winfield Fire Department answered a call to the Methodist Church at church time last Sunday when a tea towel in the kitchen caught fire, causing smoke damage.
A 1977 ford pickup driven by Ronald L. Griffith, Crawfordsville, went off W66 a mile north of Winfield Monday. He was not injured.

Bob Morse, who had been home for two weeks, left for Greenland where he is expected to be stationed for a year.
