The Winfield Betterment Group and Healthy Henry County Communities have announced a partnership with Hy-Vee in Mt. Pleasant to begin delivering groceries once a week to Winfield.

Dorothy Erickson of Milo, formerly of Winfield, celebrated her 95th birthday on Oct. 24.
WMU football team celebrated their first win of the season, defeating English Valleys 26-8.

According to Winfield Police Chief Ed Hudson, vandals played havoc with a WMU school bus parked at the Commons.

Filing papers for two seats on the city council were Janet Everett, Judy Buffington, Mark Fulton, Roger Wixom, Tim Keiser, Merle Steward, Richard Hand, Gerald Jennings, and Joe McSorley.
1985
Rev. James Edwards was installed as Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Winfield on Oct. 13.
A Buick Electra owned and driven by Doug Coberley of Winfield was demolished when he missed the T-intersection on H38 and Iris Road.
1975
Julie Kongable and Joe Vantiger were crowned the 1975 Homecoming Queen and King.
Sunrise Terrace Health Care Center will hold their dedication on the afternoon of Oct. 12.
1965
The Winfield-Mt. Union High School at Winfield, and the Winfield Lumber Company, were entered during the night of Sept. 30. Cash and checks were missing from the school.
A large double corncrib, an attached machine shed, and an older hay storage building were destroyed in a raging fire at the Martin Meeker farm tenanted by the Leslie Meeker family in the Marsh Community.
Allen (Barney) Marshall, son of Mrs. Ethel Marshall of Winfield, has been named to the Order of the Arrow, National Boy Scout honorary group.
