Leonard and Irene Hesseltine will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary Nov. 15.

2010

Briar Paul Connop, son of Caleb and Kendra Connop of Winfield, was born Sept. 18, 2010.

2005

Bill and Mary Frances Rodruck Wintermeyer celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. They were wed Sept. 7, 1940.

Amee and Jeff Wilkins of Fairfield are the parents of a baby girl, Carlee Jane, born Aug. 8, 2005.

2000

Winfield Halloween Costume winners were: ages 0-10 – 1. Molly Jennings dressed as a lamb, 2. Colt Rossiter dressed as a bear, and 3. Michael Gray dressed as a man from outer space. For ages 10-up – Amanda Mosley and Adam Linder as Raggedy Ann and Andy, 2. Dan Fields dressed as a girl, and 3. Haley Peterson dressed as a ghost.

1995

Sean Madden was awarded the Eagle Scout award in a ceremony at the Olds American Legion Hall on June 4.

Kevin and Jeanne Mullen received the ‘Winfield Beautiful Yard of the Month’ award.

Bill and Sheri Edgar are the parents of a son, Mitchell Dean Edgar, born July 24, 1995.

Brooke Taylor Hand was born Aug. 18, 1995 to Richard and Jackie Hand of Winfield.

Richard John Shoultz was born Nov. 9 to John and Lori Shoultz.

Ann Humphreys and Vern Dengler were united in marriage Oct. 27.

1985

A farm machinery auction was held Aug. 24, 1985 for owner, Carl E. Johnson.

Jack and Fanny Schrader are the parents of a daughter, Jazmin Lee, born Aug. 17, 1985.

1980

The WMU Board of Education met in a special meeting Nov. 10 to approve a tentative figure of $825,000 for a bond issue to build the proposed gym at Winfield.

1975

Delores Jane Carlson and John Wesley Daniel exchanged wedding vows July 12, 1985 at the Christ the Savior Lutheran Church in Aurora, Colorado.

1955

Ray Ross, 50, a farmer near Winfield, received severe burns on his arms, hands, back, sides, and face in a gas explosion as he tried to light a gas water heater in his basement.

Raymond Sharp has announced the sale of his interest in the Graham Lumber Co. to George Kepper. Mr. Sharp and Fred Schmidt purchased the lumber company from W.T. Graham earlier in the year.
