2015

On Nov. 13, 2015 a vehicle driven by Samuel Edwards, age 22, collided with the front of the Casey’s Store located in Winfield.

2005

The gas price at Casey’s was $1.99.

Sarah Kathryn Olsen and Adam Joseph Miller have announced their engagement and upcoming Dec. 17, 2005 wedding.

Carmen Steele and Kourtney Kaminski have announced their engagement. They plan to get married in 2007 when he returns from serving in the National Guard.

Pvt. Johnathan E. Brown graduated from boot camp at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri on Nov. 18, 2005.

2000

The CounTREE Store north of Winfield was burglarized for the second time in seven weeks.

Leonard and Irene Hesseltine celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Nov. 28.

1995

An open house in the honor of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis R. McAllister was held on Nov. 24.

Glen and Louise Seberg’s farm and household auction will be held Dec. 2, 1995.

1990

Myra Goldie was born to Patrick and Jennifer Krieger-Coen on Nov. 21.

Marie Wenger, age 94, of Winfield, died Nov. 21.

1985

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Long will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 30, 1985. They were married Dec. 24, 1935.

The WMU Board of Education took the first steps necessary to make the high school accessible to the handicapped.

1980

The Winfield Home Center was broken into, and a quantity of animal traps and a knife were taken.

American Legion Commander Duane McArtor presented Harold Tolander and Florian Sanburg with Diamond Jubilee certificates for 63 years of continuous and still active service at the Olds Post. Harold went into the Navy when he was 21, Florian entered the Coast Artillery when he was 20.

1975

Ray Huff, senior linebacker at WMU was named to the Southeast Iowa All-Conference first team on defense. Senior linebacker Terry Phelps was named to the second team on defense.

Sherry Jones and Neil Hillyard were married Oct. 4, 1975.

1960

A group of neighbors with a picker and wagons pulled in and shucked 1400 bushels of corn for Mrs. Ralph Aronhalt.

Clarence E. (Bud) Roth, age 54, has been fatally injured in a tractor accident while working in a field on a farm northwest of Olds.
