WMU offensive linemen Max Huston and Sam Jennings were named to the second team in all-state Class A football.

The WMU, Morning Sun, and New London school boards met Nov. 28 to discuss a study compiled by Guy Ghan detailing the pros and cons of consolidating the three districts.
Brooke Leichty and Jeremy Carter were married Sept. 10 in Mackinac Island in Michigan.
John Andrew Rhomberg was born to John and Amanda (Haight) Rhomberg on Nov. 11, 2005.

Joseph Henry Leach, age 48, formerly of the Mt. Union area, died Nov. 26 at Mt. Vernon, Missouri, where he has resided for the past three months.

A run-off election will be held Dec. 5 with two candidates, Judy Buffington and Janet Everett on the ballot. They tied for the highest votes, behind Richard Hand who was elected, but did not receive the majority vote.
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Finke celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 10, 1995.
Courtney and Tony Davis are the parents of a daughter, Layne Nicole was born Nov. 17, 1995.

The first real blast of winter for this area dumped some eight inches of snow and left roadways a sheet of ice for several hours. Area schools were closed.
Terry L. Phelps, age 32, was traveling on a gravel road west of Winfield when his pickup owned by Schmidt Construction struck and killed a deer.
Ken and Loree Stogdill of Crawfordsville are the parents of Taylor Johnson, born Nov. 21.
Herb and Cathy Wester are the parents of George Henry, born Dec. 2.

Molly Clause of Des Moines, daughter of Leland and Kathryn McCosh, was one of the first recipients of a new national award for child abuse prevention efforts.

Mrs. Dean Herrick was presented with the Iowa community Betterment Program Governor’s Leadership Award.

Terry Rodgers, Mike Fenton, and Donald Boecker were injured when the 1974 Vega they were in went into a ditch, struck a field drainage tile, and rolled over onto its side.
David Linder was injured in a one-car accident when he went to sleep at the wheel of his new Ford Currier pickup about a mile and a half west of Mediapolis.
Ed Hudson was a delegate to the State Farm Bureau Convention.
