Gary Long had a narrow escape when he received electrical burns to his right hand and fingers when a crane on the truck he was backing touched a 13,800-volt Union electric power line at the Hubinger Co. barge loading construction site.

Irene Courtney and Leonard Hesseltine were married Nov. 28 at the Open Bible Church in Winfield.
1965
Curtis Royer, Jr., 21, was critically injured in a one-car accident early on the morning of Dec. 10 about a mile north of Winfield on the blacktop county road.
