Karmen Johnson and Kelly (Jennings) Anderson have announced the opening of Daisy May Floral and Gifts, located at 110 N. Locust in Winfield. They will offer a full line of fresh and silk flowers, an inventory of unique gift items, greeting cards, and balloons.
Mary Ellen Shafer of West Bend and Christopher Dean Newton of Winfield have announced their upcoming June wedding.
Wendell Van Syoc died Dec. 28, 2005 from multiple injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Dec. 23.

Barbara Krieger, a 1975 graduate of WMU and daughter of Bub and Lugene Krieger, will bring her Pomona-Pitzer women’s basketball team to Iowa for a three-game road trip.

The new spec home constructed in Winfield is all ready for occupancy. The house is owned by Dr. Steve Wettach and Jean Wiley and Sons Construction Co.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth McLaughlin are the parents of Jordan Louise, born Dec. 21.
1986
Terry Wasson will succeed Rick Mullen as Fire Chief of the Winfield Volunteer Fire Department. Mullen will be Assistant Chief; Bob Royer remains Secretary-Treasurer.
Winfield Police Chief Jerry Andries, assisted by Officer Bob Royer and Ed Hudson of the Henry County Sheriff’s Department, arrested five people at midnight Dec. 23 for an alleged burglary and theft spree in Iowa City and Yarmouth.
Sally Holcomb and Denis Blaise were united in marriage Oct. 26, 1985.
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Finke celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary by spending two weeks in Hawaii.
Elaine Heitmeier of Mt. Union and Ronald Pitsinger of Winfield exchanged wedding vows on Dec. 20, 1985 at the Winfield United Methodist Church.
Leslie and Wilna Meeker celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Jan. 11 with an open house.

Mrs. Sheldon Kongable received and accepted an invitation to attend the presidential inaugural ceremonies in Washington, D.C.

Everett (Harold) and Grace Iva Byers were injured in a two-car accident on Hwy. 78 on the way to the Neva Ball home on Christmas Day.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Klopfenstein are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in Winter Haven, Florida.
1971
John Rodruck is the new president of the Winfield Chamber of Commerce.
Bob Metzger was one of the lucky 10,000 servicemen to attend the Bob Hope Show at Freedom Hill, Vietnam.
Steve Gerling was an overnight patient at the Burlington Hospital after he cut the tendon to his big toe and chipped the bone when he got his foot in the chain saw he was using. He expects to be in a cast for five weeks.
1966
Tim Haines earned his Eagle Scout Award.
Susan Kay Bergan and Clarence Joseph Salladay were married at the Winfield Presbyterian Church on Dec. 26, 1965.
