Kathryn McCosh was honored for her 90th birthday with an open house at Twin Lake’s Country Club.
Seth Haight was among the graduates at the University of Iowa. He received a BBA in Accounting and Management Information Systems.
An open house was held at the Veterans Building honoring Opan Meeker on her 90th birthday.

Signe Chrisinger celebrated her 95th birthday with a party at Sunrise Terrace Feb. 3.
The WMU boys’ basketball team extended their undefeated streak to 15-0 with a 68-50 win over WACO on Jan. 27. Burt Lappe led the way with 21 points, Wyatt Peterson and Tony Hardy each threw in 10.

S-Sgt. Charles H. Rude, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. Rude, Sr., reported for duty with the 89th Military Airlift Wing, Andrews AFB, Maryland.
1936
The home of Mrs. Anna Wheeler was burned to the ground Sunday. Church services at the Presbyterian Church were suspended as the men and boys rushed across the street to aid in fighting the fire. The family of six was removed to the C.A. Eichenhauer home. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Lamme, Mrs. Neil Siberts and Bobby and Ross Wheeler escaped.
