Gerald and Edith Anderson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 25.
Merlin and Frieda Finke celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 24.
1991
The neighbors on North Clark were upset last week when they noticed that the yellow ribbons they had placed on the trees along the street were gone. It turned out that a squirrel had taken all of them but one to his nest high up in a tree.
James and Maurene (Hamilton) Wilson celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family celebration on Feb. 16.
Jeff Rathmell and Kim Meyer were united in marriage Dec. 30, 1990 in Cedar Falls.
Tracy Smith and Jeff Slagell are engaged and planning a June 15 wedding.
1986
A proposal to combine WMU and Morning Sun classes was presented to the Morning Sun school board by WMU school board president Robert and Huff and director Joyce Hansmeyer. It was met with mixed reaction from the Morning Sun board.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Meth were honored for their 25th wedding anniversary.
1981
It has been announced that three businesses are to open: Larry Jennings, Elm Grove Farms, Inc.; Mrs. Ray Barber, Grandma’s Gift Shop in the former laundromat on Main Street; and Bob Smith is opening a soft serve ice cream and quick service grocery in the scale building at the south end of Main Street.
1971
Mr. and Mrs. Clint Anderson enjoyed their Golden Anniversary with over 100 friends and relatives Feb. 21 at their home at 402 S. Olive St.
