Pekin tops Winfield-Mt. Union 6-3

Pekin’s five run first inning was enough to get past Winfield-Mt. Union on May 23.
The Panthers scored one additional run in the fourth.
WMU went five innings before its first run of the game. The Wolves scored a pair in the sixth and one in the seventh, but couldn’t bring the game even.
For Pekin, Koy Pollock finished with two hits and an RBI in the win.
JaeDon Wolver, Ben Ehret, Deklan Hampton and Hudson VanEnglenhoven each had one hit. Ehret finished with two RBIs as well.
Sven Dahlstrom and JaeDon Wolver each threw for the Panthers. The pair gave up a combined seven hits, three runs, three earned and had 11 strikeouts.
For the Wolves, Cael Philips and Cole Milks each had two hits. The pair had an RBI each too.
Riley Kaalberg, Andrew Brown and Kohlby Newsom each finished with a hit. Brown had one RBI.
Kaalberg pitched for the Wolves for six innings, giving up six hits, six runs, four earned and five strikeouts.
Milks pitched one innings and had one strikeout.
