Swedesburg Lutheran Church announces Orgelmusik Concert

SWEDESBURG — Swedesburg Lutheran Church is excited to announce its latest Orgelmusik (Organ Music) Concert to be held Sunday, March 3 at p.m. This concert will feature guest artist and trombonist, Matthew Burrows, and Christopher Arp playing organ and piano.
Matthew Burrows of Kansas City is currently a member of the United States 312th Army Band. He is a substitute trombone player with the Kansas City Symphony and has had his own private studio for 6 years.
He played in the metal band “Heavy Metal Horns” in 2016, is a co-founder and member of the Sunflower Brass Quintet and is also the Utility Trombonist with the Medical Arts Symphony in Kansas City. He has a recording project to showcase young trombonists in an album Trombone Gems.
Originally from Downers Grove, IL, Matthew studied Trombone Performance with a Minor in Communications at the University of Iowa.
Christopher Arp is the Swedesburg Lutheran Music Director and Organist. He holds degrees from both Luther College and the University of Iowa. He is a lifetime member of the American Guild of Organists (AGO). He has served as an officer of both the North Iowa and River Valleys AGO chapters. Christopher grew up on a farm south of Dysart and has had the privilege of playing organs across the United States, Spain and Germany.
