Winfield Lions meet for fish fry

Larry and Donna Montross hosted a wonderful fish fry for the Winfield Lions Club.

Everyone brought sides and fun and fellowship was had by all.

After the meal, the Lions members discussed events planned for the upcoming year such as recruiting new members, parking for the East Lots during Old Threshers, the flags that are place out in residences yards at all holidays, possibly having a float at the Winfield Crooked Creek Days event and discussed possible additional fundraisers for the charities the Lions Club sponsors.

Toward the end of the meeting new officers were elected as follows: Treasurer Ronnie Van Auken, Secretary Wanda Jennings, Tail Twister Dave Smith, Lion Tamer Ben Johnson, 3rd Presidents Corriene Culver/John Chrisinger, 2nd President Alex Culver and 1st President Jim Strausser.

The Lions Club also will be planning some social events over the summer during next month’s meeting. It is wonderful to be a Lion and give back to our community.
