WMU baseball tops Highland, falls to Hillcrest

Winfield-Mt. Union walked off Highland on Thursday after Andrew Brown was hit by a pitch.
Highland and WMU were tied at 5-5 heading into the seventh inning before the walk off HBP.
Preston Prior went 3-for-4 for the Wolves.
Cael Phillips, Grant Watson, Riley Kaalberg and Kohlby Newsom all notched two hits in the game. Phillips, Cole Milks and Brown all finished with one RBI.
Kaalberg and Trevor Phillips threw a combined eight innings, giving up five runs (five earned) on five hits, four walks and 11 strikeouts.
For Highland, William Dunbar had two hits and two RBIs.
Peyton Yeggy threw on the hill, giving up six runs (three earned) on nine hits and five strikeouts.
Hillcrest Academy 4, Winfield-Mt. Union 2
Hillcrest Academy and Winfield-Mt. Union were knotted at 1-1 after the first inning on Friday.
The Ravens took the lead after a run in the third and added two more in the fifth to seal it.
Luke Schrock went 3-for-3 for the Ravens with one RBI. Rowen Miller finished with two hits and three RBIs.
Schrock and Phoenix Anderson combined for two runs (one earned) on five hits, two walks and three strikeouts.
For WMU, Kohlby Newsom had two hits in the game. Cole Milks had the Wolves’ lone RBI.
On the hill, Cael Phillips and Andrew Brown gave up four runs (three earned) on seven hits, two walks and five strikeouts.
