WINFIELD — Winfield Elementary students and staff enjoyed a fun-filled fall festival in celebration of earning tickets for good behaviors.
The Winfield elementary students were treated to different stations on Friday afternoon such as face painting by the Winfield art teacher and some of her students. Kids were offered a variety of Halloween themed options for their face or hands.
Then it was off to a new station like pumpkin bowling, yes, we cracked a few pumpkins, but the kids had fun.
Then it was off to the gym for chucking chickens. The kids took turns throwing a rubber chicken as far as they could in the gym. The winner of each class was awarded a medal for the farthest chicken throw and of course bragging rights.
A farm themed obstacle course was one of the stations with a milking cow brought to us by Farm Bureau.
In the obstacle course the children had to ride a horse, milk a cow, feed the pigs with corn and go under the fences.
A Halloween themed snack made of popcorn and orange crackers and special treats was had by all.
At one of our stations each class built a scarecrow picking out their hats and shirts and carefully stuffing them with straw.
Special thanks to Miller Farms for their donations of materials and the PBIS team for all their hard work for planning and preparing these activities.
The scarecrows were on display at parent teacher conferences and available to bid on at the silent auction. Money raised will go towards doing more fun activities with the students.
