WMU softball drops two

The Huskies scored 10 runs in the fourth inning to put the game away via the 12-point mercy rule and pick up a Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division victory on Thursday.
Abigail Pierson had a big one for the Huskies. She finished 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs. Lilly Barre was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Jessica Kraus gave up just one earned run over four innings to pick up the win for Highland in the circle.
Hillcrest Academy 16, Winfield-Mount Union 12
Hillcrest Academy won a wild one, beating WMU by four runs in a SEISC North slugfest on Friday.
The Ravens were led by Lydia Beachy, who went just 1-for-4 with a double but knocked in a team-high five RBIs in the win. Morgyn Nafziger was 2-for-4 with three RBIs, and Kylee Statler knocked in two.
Malia Yoder gave up 12 runs (nine earned) over seven innings of work in the circle, which was good enough to earn the sophomore a win.
WMU senior Keely Malone was 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs in the loss. Anna Anderson went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs, and Quin Smith was 3-for-5 with one RBI.
