1986

Firemen from Wayland, Olds, and Winfield battled a blaze that destroyed the Farmer’s Oil Company in Wayland on Jan. 8. Occupants of the building barely escaped when an explosion rocked the building.

Phyllis and Robert Hartler received minor injuries during an accident involving a small pickup and a scraper west of Crawfordsville.

A bulk feed truck owned by Benji Roth and driven by Rick Smith was destroyed by fire. Smith was not in the truck when it exploded. Apparently, the fire began around the carburetor in the engine.

Brenda and Kurt Krabill are the parents of Kurt Ryan, born Dec. 29, 1985.

Mr. and Mrs. Doran Richenberger are the parents of Laura Beth, born Jan. 8.

Megan Elaine was born Jan. 8 to Terry and Vicky Lowe of Wayland.
