Parents: Doug Conrad and Angela Conrad

Future plans and goals: I am going to go to Indian Hills Community college for a degree in Computer Science. I will be majoring in computer software development and plan to find a career in the field after I graduate. I would also like to make and publish a video game.

Co-curricular activities: Band, Chorus, Drama, Student Council and Computer Coding Club

Community activities: Highway cleanup and serving at church

How will your high school experiences help you in the coming years?: I think my time in high school has made me more sociable, and that classes like English have helped make me a better writer. Specifically, I think my computer science class has helped me to get a head start on the field I plan on going into, so hopefully it will help me in college.

Fondest memory of high school: Participating in the coding club and winning the Indian Hills Byte Jam competition (twice!)

Which teachers have had the biggest impact on you and why?: My third grade teacher, Ms. Miller was a pretty big influence on me because she was the one who first got me into reading.

Who is your role model and how did they influence you?: There’s probably not a single person that is my role model, rather there are several people that I admire, due to their extreme dedication to their work and their skill. Through their art, music, film, and games they have greatly influenced my life over the years.

What is special about your high-school?: Our teachers are very hands-on and are always willing to help.

If you go back to when you were a freshman, what advice would you give yourself? I’d tell myself to not feel overwhelmed by work because I was always able to overcome it.
