Fair queen coronation July 14
Henry County Fair Queen Contest set to occur Wednesday, July 14
Who will reign over this year’s fair? The Henry County Fair Queen will be decided Wednesday, July 14, at 7:30 p.m. The event will take place in Wright Pavilion in McMillian Park.
All are invited to witness the crowning of this year’s queen.
Reigning 2019 Queen Sophie Lounsbury held on to the crown for an extra year after the queen contest was canceled last year due to COVID-19.
Contestants will be judged on personality, attitude, leadership, citizenship and poise. The contestant’s will model an array of outfits during the contest, and a panel of judges will ask the contestant questions about the fair and the community.
The contestants are expected to volunteer at the fair throughout the week. They will be coached on interviewing, public speaking, networking and onstage performance techniques to make sure they stand up to the challenge.
The current Queen Sophie Lounsbury will make an appearance and speak during the contest.
The 4-H Clothing modeling event will be held during the queen contest.
