Fairfield Dental Clinic is a fixture in the community

Fairfield Dental Clinic at 51 W. Adams Ave., is a longtime fixture in the Fairfield community.

Dr. Marty Gleason has been at Fairfield Dental Clinic for 36 years, according to practice administrator Denise Hall.

“Dr. Gleason came in with Dr. Stephen Van Tasell, and now Dr. Van Tassel is retired,” Hall said.

She added that Van Tasell bought the practice from Dr. L.B. Carter and Dr. Albert Singley.

Hall said that the practice has been in business since the 1950s.

Gleason received his dental degree from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine.

He is a member of the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, Southeast Iowa District Dental Society and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.

Five years ago, Dr. Patrick Jones joined the practice, Hall said.

Jones is a 2009 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.

He is a member of the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association and the Southeast Iowa District Dental Society.

Gleason and Jones currently have three dental hygienists working with them, along with five dental assistants.

“We do general dentistry,” Hall said. “We do whitening, fillings, root canals, cleaning, crowns and bridges and dentures – a little bit of everything.”

She added that they do not do orthodontics, and if a patient getting an extraction needs to be sedated, they are referred to an oral surgeon.

The doctors and staff of Fairfield Dental Clinic pride themselves on providing their patients with comprehensive care for their dental needs.

They understand that for a lot of patients, visiting the dentist is a task full of anxiety.

Fairfield Dental Clinic provides a welcome environment that will put their patients at ease and help them feel comfortable and relaxed.

Hall said that the clinic is open Monday through Thursday, as well as “an occasional Friday.”
