Parents are also encouraged to sign up on School Messenger, to receive email and text messages for weather related information. Please visit the district's web page at www.washington.k12.ia.us for more information on how to sign up or make sure you are already enrolled.
Please use the above listed media outlets and websites for school related announcements. Please do not call the transportation department to inquire about cancellations, delays, or early dismissals.
Decisions regarding delays and cancellations are made by 5:30 a.m. and early dismissal decisions are made by 11 a.m. If a delay is deemed necessary, it will be a 1 or 2 hour delay. This means students will need to be at their bus stops 1 to 2 hours later than normal. Example: There is a 2 hour delay and the normal bus time is 7:10 a.m. The stop time for that morning would then become 9:10 a.m.
If school is dismissed early, students will be taken to their designated bus stops unless parents have made other arrangements with the school or transportation department.
