How will your high school experiences help you in the coming years?: My time in high school has been filled with both challenging and successful moments that have shaped me into a better person. In the future, when I’m faced with a problem, this time has given me confidence and courage.
Fondest memory of high school: My fondest memories of high school came from my time as a football manager. I love the energy of the team, especially the homecoming game.
Which teachers have had the biggest impact on you and why?: Mrs. Pogmore is without a doubt my number one cheerleader. Mr. Pieart not only teaches my favorite subject, but he has expanded my passion for learning and exploring. As my golf coach, Mr. Wachs is always there to give me a boost of confidence or helpful advice.
Who is your role model and how did they influence you?: My flight instructor, Larry Jennings. He is smart and determined, and has an amazing aptitude for thinking through problems. He’s passionate and has a great curiosity. He’s the kind of person I want to be someday.
What is special about your high school?: What sets my high school apart from others is the staff. Our school is not unique, but the teachers have such a passion for sharing their knowledge. That really makes a difference as a student, knowing that your teachers want to be there, that they want you to learn and to succeed. This passion opens up all kinds of possibilities to students.
If you go back to when you were a freshman, what advice would you give yourself?: Hang on. It might be hard now, but you are exactly who you’re supposed to be right now. You may not see it now, but everything will fall into place.
