How will your high school experiences help you in the coming years? I think my high school experience has helped me become a better student and being in many activities has helped me to utilize my time wisely. It has also helped me be more understanding of others.
Fondest memory of high school: My fondest memory of high school was going to state freshman year of golf.
Which teachers have had the biggest impact on you and why? The teacher who has impacted me the most is in high school has probably been Mr. DePriest, my band teacher. Mr. D always sees the best in you and pushes you to be your best, and I felt like he really cares about us. I love his passion for teaching and his students, and he always made symphonic band and marching band fun
Who is your role model and how did they influence you? My role model is my parents because they have always being there to support me throughout my life and always being there when I need anything. My dad has given me a good work ethic and my mom has taught me so much about life and how to persevere. They have also taught me to always treat others with kindness.
What is special about your high school? Mt. Pleasant is special because it is a close knit community and everyone supports each other’s activities and programs.
If you go back to when you were a freshman, what advice would you give yourself? If I could go back to when I was a freshman, I would tell myself to be more involved in the school’s extracurricular activities besides just sports and band, such as silver cord or speech, I think that would have been fun.
