The majority of Washington's archers shot for the Nationjal Archery in the Schools Program state competition last week but the virtual aspect allowed participants leeway in when they would compete.
After all the results were finalized, two Demon archers are eligible for Nationals with their Top 10 finishes.
Washington Middle School archer Audrey Smith, shot a 276 in 3D to place ninth. Lincoln Elementary archer Charlee Read shot a 258 in Bullseye, also earning ninth place out of 75.
Bullseye consists of shooting at a ringed target while the 3D competition has Styrofoam animals for the targets.
National tournament will be virtual April 18 - May 8.
'The girls, Audrey and Charlee, had strong tournament results all season, so their performances were on target,” program director Kathy Stender said. 'Competition was so different this season that it was hard to predict anything. Our teams, overall, shot very well.”
In qualifying for 3D, Smith hit 13 10s. She was second of 27 seventh grade girls and 32nd of 228 total middle school girls.
Washington Middle School's 3D team scored 1,556, fifth out of 13 teams.
