No. 10 (8man) Winfield-Mount Union (2-0, 0-0) at No. 8 New London (1-0, 0-0)
Site, time: New London High School, 7 p.m.
Overview: The winner between these AP ranked teams could win the title of Class 8-man District 6. WMU’s Cam Buffington is tied for the touchdown (19) lead in class. Five different backs ran for at least 35 yards in New London’s only game.
No. 5 (1A) Sigourney-Keota (1-0, 0-0) at No. 6 (2A) Centerville (0-1, 0-0)
Site, time: Lakeview Athletic Complex, Centerville, 7 p.m.
Overview: Cobras must limit Big Reds offense. Sawyer Wardlow leads 2A in touchdowns and Kade Mosely is first in TD receptions, third in yards.
Highland (1-1, 1-0) at Wilton (2-0, 0-0)
Site, time: Wilton High School, 7 p.m.
Overview: Highland looks to spoil the Beavers homecoming. The Huskies are 0-3 all-time against Wilton after last season’s 36-30 loss.
Pekin (0-2, 0-1) at North Cedar (0-2, 0-1)
Site, time: Doug Jackson Field, Stanwood, 7 p.m.
Overview: The two A-5 District teams have surrendered 100 (Pekin) and 98 (Knights) points in the first two games. These two schools play for the first time since 2011.
English Valleys (2-0, 1-0) at WACO (3-0, 1-0)
Site, time: WACO High School, Wayland, 7 p.m.
Overview: Another battle in 8-6 between two unbeatens, both received votes in the AP poll.
Louisa-Muscatine (0-2, 0-0) at Van Buren County (1-1, 0-0)
Site, time: Van Buren County High School, Keosauqua, 7 p.m.
Overview: Van Buren needs a second win before district play starts but the Falcons have won all five meetings including last year’s, 43-12.
Davis County (1-1, 0-0) at Cardinal (2-0, 0-0)
Site, time: Cardinal High School, Eldon, 7 p.m.
Overview: DC has scored 43 points while Cardinal is a scoring machine with 136 points in two games. Maddux Jones is second in Class 1A in passing TDs and Griffin Greiner is first in receiving TDs while Ian Liles is second in rushing TDs. This is the first meeting in recent memory between schools.
Columbus (1-1, 0-1) at Wapello (1-1, 0-0)
Site, time: on U.S. 61, 5 blocks northwest of Wapello High School, 7 p.m.
Overview: It will be the first A-5 District game for the Indians but both teams have played Louisa-Muscatine already this season. Columbus won at home 9-6 in overtime while Wapello won on the road 45-0.
No. 3 (1A) Iowa City Regina (2-0, 0-0) at Mid-Prairie (1-1, 0-0)
Canceled: “We have a number of players that cannot suit up and so we felt it best to cancel,” Mid-Prairie athletic director Tyler Hotz said. The game will not be rescheduled.
