2021 Sports Pictures of the Year (Part 1)

With high school and college sports getting back into full swing, 2021 saw life begin to get back to normal after the year prior saw effects of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic cancel games, events and an entire spring season.
The Union coverage area was home to many thrilling games, league championships and even a few state titles. While not every game was played in front of a Union reporter or contributor, the sports team was able to capture some of the magic that brought audiences back into the crowd in 2021.
Here are just a handful of the pictures that made 2021 a thrilling one in the field of local sports.
