FAIRFIELD — While Fairfield volleyball lost a very successful senior class this past season, the Trojans are in a great position to make their presence felt in the Southeast Conference (SEC).
Fairfield lost a total of five seniors in 2021.
The good news for the Trojans is they will have both their kill and assist leaders back this season.
Macy Rayburn led the Trojan’s last season with 149 kills. Graduate Anna Dunlap was second with 125 kills, but the next two highest, Maggie Rayburn and Maya Lane, return.
Junior Maddie Jones had a stellar junior campaign tallying a total of 351 assists. She will be at the for front once again.
Fairfield will return nine in total from last years varsity squad.
The Trojans will see a lot of familiar foes this season, including the usual SEC foes including Mt. Pleasant, Washington, Fort Madison, Keokuk and Burlington.
After falling short of the SEC title to Mt. Pleasant in 2021, the Trojans have all the tools to win it this year.
