2022 IGHSAU state basketball pairings

DES MOINES - The 2022 Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union state basketball tournament will tip off on Monday morning. Class 5A leads things off, followed by Class 3A, 4A, 2A and 1A in that order.

Quarterfinals will last from Monday through Wednesday, with the semifinals and finals taking place on Thursday and Friday respectively.

No Union area team made the 2022 tournament, but a couple of familiar teams remain.

In Class 3A, Davenport Assumption earned the No. 8 seed after defeating Mid-Prairie 44-32 in the regional final.

In Class 1A, Burlington Notre Dame earned the No. 7 seed after beating Winfield-Mount Union 68-36 in the semifinal and thrashing English Valleys 83-22 in the regional final in Fairfield.
