MT. PLEASANT — Mt. Pleasant cross-country finished last season with a second-place finish on the girls side and a third-place finish on the boys in the Southeast Conference race.
The girls lose two seniors, including Jenna Gilmore and last year’s SEC champion Abby Blint.
Five girls will be back for the Panthers, four seniors and one sophomore.
Sophomore Alexis Wagner will head the girls squad this season as she had a fantastic freshman campaign. She finished third in the SEC meet last year. Wagner’s best run was 20:46.00 in 2021.
Senior’s Isabelle Meador and Jadan Housh also stand out as well.
For the boys, Nathan McWilliams and Gannon McNamee are the only graduating seniors.
Junior Ben Carthey finished with the top time last year. Carthey ran a 17:55.00 and finished eighth in the SEC meet.
Senior’s Christian Bracht-Wagner and Gabe Feldman will compete right with Carthey as they ran the next top times.
