MT. PLEASANT — Mt. Pleasant took the Southeast Conference last year with a great all around team performance.
Coming into the 2022-23 season, the Panthers lost some leading performers. That doesn’t deny the fact that Mt. Pleasant still is one of the favorites to compete for the SEC title.
Mt. Pleasant loses its leaders in both assists and kills from 2021 this season.
Kenna Lamm led the Panthers in kills last season with 317 and Ralyn Seberg was the assist leader with 454.
Despite losing four seniors, the Panthers are sitting in good shape.
Junior Emma Starr, who finished second in kills last season with 108, will see a lot of production this year. Seniors Kate Schimmelpfennig and Andrea Lopreato will also find the ball as well. Senior Tristian Shull is more than likely to take the reins of setter.
With the loss of last years seniors, the Panthers will be returning seven, six of which will be seniors, to the varsity squad.
