2024 SEC All-Conference Volleyball teams announced

Another year of Southeast Conference volleyball is complete, which means another list of SEC All-Conference Volleyball.

This season, Washington took the conference tournament crown and holds four all-conference selections.

Burlington leads all teams with five total all-conference picks.

Each team also has two honorable mention selections as well as an academic all-conference list.

Fairfield and Mt. Pleasant both end with two all-conference honors.

Leading the way for Washington is this year’s conference player of the year, junior Leighton Messinger.

Messinger was one of the top hitters in the league, finishing with 285 kills. The only Demon to amass over the 200 mark.

To go along with the kills, Messinger finished with a team high 244 digs and tallied 35 aces.

Layla Green was new to the Demons’ squad this season, but was integral to their success.

Green, a sophomore, finished with a team second best 176 kills. She was a stellar defender, posting 44 blocks, 18 more than the next Demon.

The third Demon on first team is senior Lauren Hinrichsen. Hinrichsen was the Demons leading setter, dishing out 659 assists in 81 sets. Hinrichsen coupled that with 197 digs and 22 aces.

On second team for Washington it’s senior Ella Greiner. Greiner has been a stellar player for the Demons for four years. She ended the season with 166 kills and a team second best 242 digs.

She also led the team in aces with 42.

Junior Taylor Miksch and sophomore Ellie Farmer were the Demons honorable mentions.

Fairfield’s lone first team selection is senior Lilly Bergren.

Bergren was the Trojans leader in kills. She finished with 188 total. She also dug 241 balls and notched 12 aces in her final campaign.

Junior Faith Jones earned a second team selection for Fairfield.

As the Trojans leading setter, Jones carded 640 assists this season along with 231 digs. She added 31 aces as well.

Junior Isabel McCready and senior Claire Thompson were both honorable mentions for Fairfield.

Mt. Pleasant’s pair of second team honors were juniors Addison Clark and Alex Scott.

Clark and Scott finished one and two in kills for the Panthers.

Clark ended with 197 kills and a team high 32 blocks in her third season with Mt. Pleasant.

Scott followed close behind in the kill department with 193, while posting a team high 297 digs. She also led the Panthers with 44 aces.

The Panthers pair of honorable mentions were senior Savannah Slobodnik and junior Kynlee White.
