3 Golden Hawks named for all-league

Mid-Prairie High School had three players recognized when the River Valley Conference released its selections for all-conference.
Camanche and Monticello, which both qualified for the state tournament, dominated the league and had five of the 10 players selected to the Elite Team, which is a combination of the North and South Divisions.
Mid-Prairie's Ethan Trimpe and Carter Harmsen were selected to the All-South Division team and Brad Tornow was a pick for RVC Honorable Mention. Mid-Prairie was 7-11 in the league and 8-14 overall under coach Daren Lambert.
Harmsen is a 6-foot-3 sophomore while Trimpe is a 6-foot junior and Tornow is a 5-foot-8 senior.
Harmsen averaged 12.3 points a game and 4.5 rebounds a game. He shot 44.2 percent from the field, 36 percent on 3-pointers and 78.6 percent on free throws. His scoring average was ninth in the RVC. His rebound total was 10th.
Trimpe went for an average of 10.6 points a game, four rebounds a game and made 41.9 percent of his field goals and 66.7 percent of his free throws. His scoring average was 13th in the RVC and rebounds were 15th.
Tornow was second in the conference in total assists with 94 and ninth in steals with 34. He had averages of 4.6 points, 4.2 assists and 1.5 steals. His free throw percentage of 77.3 was third in the league of those with a minimum of 20 attempts.
