4th quarter rally saves Golden Hawks

WELLMAN - The Mid-Prairie boys basketball team improved to 4-1 Monday with a 53-46 win over Northeast.
An 11-9 lead at the end of the first quarter evaporated into a 23-19 halftime deficit for the home court defenders. A 14-13 third quarter was the Rebels advantage for a 37-32 lead to start the fourth period.
The Golden Hawks flew past the visitors with a 21-9 edge in the final quarter.
Alex Bean scored 18 points for Mid-Prairie and Carter Harmsen added 12. Aiden Rath's defense resulted in six blocks. He also had seven points and eight rebounds. Jackson Pennington doled out four assists while scoring seven points. Will Cavanagh and Harmsen had three assists each.
